Butler County Auditor Roger Reynolds' abrupt withdrawal last week from the 16-way contest to fill the vacancy created by Speaker John A. Boehner's retirement is another sign of how little conservatives think of the former speaker. Reynolds was seen as a favorite among the 14 Republicans in the race and was believed to have Boehner's backing. But that didn't work in Reynolds' favor among some conservatives.

Kasich goes for the jugular in latest Trump attack ads
Ohio Gov. John Kasich launched an all-out attack Monday on Donald Trump as the billionaire stumped in Kasich's home state. In advance of a planned Trump speech in Columbus, Kasich unveiled a new ad highlighting Trump's controversial comments in support of registering Muslim citizens in the United States.

The donor list for the major "super-PAC" supporting Ohio Gov. John Kasich's bid for president reads like a who's who of prominent Ohio political donors. There are Wexners - Abigail S. Wexner, wife of Leslie Wexner, founder of The Limited, contributed $1 million to New Day for America.

Non-citizens caught voting in 2012 presidential election in key swing state
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced Wednesday that his office found 17 non-citizens illegally cast ballots in the 2012 presidential election -- and has referred the case for possible prosecution. The alleged crime would be a notable case of voter fraud in a key swing state. By law, only American citizens are allowed the privilege of casting ballots for the nation's leaders.
