The end point, the aim of all their lying, cheating, criminality, dishonor, and degradation? --Given the latest Weiner scandals coming on top of the latest WikiLeaks scandals, we wonder, what did the Clintons really wish to end up as — and why? Are they Goethe’s Faust or tortured souls crushed by the weight of their money bags in Dante’s Fourth Circle of Hell?

Hillary: hey, that VA scandal wasn’t that big of a deal

Now comes the next test for Hillary Clinton’s inevitability as the Democrats’ nominee. During an appearance on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show (and really… where else would it be) Hillary got into a conversation with the host about the VA scandal. That should be a fairly easy one to handle, right? You condemn the awful, systemic failures of the agency, critique the “fixes” put in place thus far, suggest what else you would do to take care of our wounded warriors and move on.

Act Two: Merkley and the IRS Scandal

Hypocrisy is the scarlet letter of modern day politics, and Jeff Merkley is wearing it. From Main Street to Wall Street, Senator Merkley’s actions rarely match his rhetoric. Saying one thing, and doing another is the recipe by which Merkley and his political cohorts hold on to power, proving his allegiance lies not with the people of Oregon, but rather D.C. special interests.

 

The second act of hypocrisy we’ve caught Senator Merkley in is the Internal Revenue Service scandal involving the targeting of groups based on their political leanings. In May 2013, Mr. Merkley called the IRS targeting of political groups “wrong and absolutely unacceptable”, but had pressured the IRS to investigate those same political groups in March 2012. What a difference a year makes!
