Rand Paul will back Trump if he is nominee

It may be April 1, but apparently Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is not joking about supporting Donald Trump for the Republican nomination if — if — he emerges as the party's nominee in the general election.

Stand In For Rand?

Rand Paul, the junior senator from Kentucky, suspended his presidential campaign last week. Though he took fifth place in the Iowa caucuses, he garnered a mere four percent of the vote. "Ours has been a unique voice in this race," the senator rightly declared, "one that says Big Government threatens Americans from all walks of life, rich and poor, black and white -- from the coal miner who has lost his job over President Obama's destructive EPA regulations to the teenager from a poor family facing jail time for marijuana."

Rand Paul suspends presidential campaign

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) announced Wednesday that he is suspending his presidential campaign, bringing an end to a bid that began with aspirations of expanding the libertarian base that his father, Ron Paul, built into a powerful national coalition. "It's been an incredible honor to run a principled campaign for the White House," Paul said in a statement. "Today, I will end where I began, ready and willing to fight for the cause of Liberty."

Rand Paul unleashes on the White House after it dubbed Trump 'disqualified'

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul unleashed on the White House Wednesday after press secretary Josh Earnest suggested Republican front-runner Donald Trump disqualified himself from the 2016 horse race for suggesting the U.S. should temporarily block Muslims from entry.

Rand Paul Says Marco Rubio 'Had Secret Deal With Chuck Schumer' On Immigration

Rand Paul appeared on Mark Levin's radio show Tuesday evening to share his thoughts on the refugee crisis and the lack of vetting of Muslim refugees arriving in America. The conservative, libertarian senator had some other things to say, especially about Marco Rubio.
Rubio has always supported an open-borders policy and was part of the Gang of 8, the group of senators that tried to pass amnesty for illegal aliens and would have opened the floodgates to Islamic refugees.

Rand Paul will filibuster debt ceiling bill

DENVER -- Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) has called it a slap in the face to conservatives." Likely speaker of the House Paul Ryan has said the process that created it "stinks." But Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is the first Republican to pledge outright that he'll try to scutter the compromise debt limit bill designed to kick any tough new vote into 2017.
"I will filibuster the new debt ceiling bill," Paul said at an event on the University of Colorado's Denver campus. "It is horrible, it's hard for me not to use profanity describing it."

Rand Paul’s Passive-Aggressive Trolling Campaign

When former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush announced in mid-December that he would “actively explore” running for the Republican presidential nomination, curious parties took to Google to learn more about him. While they were there, many of them were greeted by another politician’s name at the bottom of the page—one they hadn’t searched for.
“Join a movement working to shrink government. Not grow it,” read one of the ads, placed by RandPAC, the political action committee supporting Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who is himself expected to run for the nomination. Another read: “We need leaders who will stand against Common Core.”

GOP pushes Rand Paul to focus on Senate re-election

A defiant Rand Paul is brushing off weak fundraising and weaker poll numbers as would-be donors and home state Republicans push him to abandon an uphill presidential bid to focus on his Senate re-election. While showing some frustration, the first-term Kentucky senator this week claimed his superior political organization would prove wrong those doubting his chances in the White House contest. At the same time, he released fundraising numbers that place him squarely in the bottom tier of the GOP's 2016 class over the last three months, a painful symbol of stalled momentum for the libertarian favorite who was considered a major presidential contender earlier in the year.

Rand: I'll Oppose McConnell On CR, Doesn't Pledge Support To Him As Leader

Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) stated that he will “oppose Senator McConnell (R-KY) when he brings forward the continuing resolution,” but didn’t offer his support to McConnell staying as majority leader, citing a lack of an election or other choices, and arguing, “it isn’t about opposing a person” on Monday’s “America’s Newsroom” on the Fox News Channel.

Rand: Refugee Program Needs "More Scrutiny",Why Aren't Saudi Arabia And Iran Taking Refugees?

Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said that the US’ refugee needs “more scrutiny” and wondered why Saudi Arabia and Iran aren’t being asked to take refugees on Thursday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

Rand Paul Is Spoiling for a Fight with Trump

I caught up with Rand Paul at Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum convention in St. Louis over the weekend, and he was in a feisty mood. While he was there to introduce his 80-year-old mother before she accepted an award from Eagle Forum, he was primed to discuss this week’s upcoming GOP debate and Donald Trump.
“Someone has to bring him down,” he told reporters in the lounge of the St. Louis Marriott. “I’m not going to sit quietly by and let the disaster that is Donald Trump become the nominee. Do you want someone who appears to still be in grade school to be in charge of the nuclear arsenal?”

Rand Paul: Kentucky Clerk Should Not Have to Approve Gay Marriage Licenses

Rand Paul said he supports a county clerk from his home state for standing her ground against granting marriage licenses for same-sex couples, saying there should be room "for people to exercise their religious beliefs and not be told they have to do something they find morally objectionable."
"I have never been opposed to contracts between consenting adults," Paul told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" co-host Bill Hemmer. "But I am very much sympathetic to the idea that an individual shouldn't have to sign or give their stamp of approval that they object to."

Rand Paul’s sneak attack strategy

Rand Paul was 2,487 miles away from the Beltway journalists who had written off his campaign, and he was loving it.

A riverfront hotel ballroom had filled early, latecomers grabbing chairs from the hallway to add more rows. Seven hundred people stood for a prayer, then the Pledge of Allegiance, then the Star-Spangled Banner, then for two amen-filled endorsements from local legislators, then a video message from the senator’s wife Kelley — and then, finally, for Rand Paul.

Christie, Paul and the NSA

Debating Chris Christie is a formidable task because he's quick-witted, sharp-tongued and slightly intimidating. Those qualities helped him get the best of Rand Paul in the first Republican presidential debate. But Christie's best weapon is one that may catch up with him: He never lets the truth get in his way.
Earlier this year, Paul led a successful effort to end the National Security Agency's mass collection of Americans' telephone records. During the debate, Christie was asked whether he stands by his assertion that Paul should be blamed if the United States suffers another terrorist attack.

The candidate everyone thought could change the Republican Party is completely collapsing

Last fall, TIME magazine declared Paul the "most interesting man in politics" and stamped him on its cover. Paul launched his campaign earlier this year pledging that he was a "different kind of Republican." Four months later, though it's still early in a crowded, fluid race, it's clear that many Republicans want different — but not him.
His campaign is struggling to keep up with his rivals in fundraising. Two of his political allies running an outside super PAC supporting his candidacy were recently indicted on campaign-finance fraud charges. Significant plunges in polling are starting to correspond.

Rand Paul: Income Inequality Comes From 'Some People Working Harder' Than Others

Asked if his flat tax plan would further separate the haves from the have-nots, GOP presidential hopeful Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) said Sunday that income inequality is the result of some Americans working harder than others, rather than economic policies.

"The thing is, income inequality is due to some people working harder and selling more things," Paul told host Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday." "If people voluntarily buy more of your stuff, you'll have more money."

Rand Paul Rails Against ‘Chameleon’ Donald Trump

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul lashed out at Donald Trump during a campaign event Saturday in South Carolina, arguing conservatives can’t trust the New York businessman because he has “been on both sides of every issue.”
“My goodness,” Paul said in Goose Creek to the Berkeley County GOP. “He’s been on both sides of every issue. Where is our sense? Where is our common sense?”

RAND PAUL PUSHES AHEAD TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD, CIRCUMVENT MITCH MCCONNELL

Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is coming under fire from his home state colleague, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) —a GOP presidential candidate—as well, not just from Paul’s 2016 rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Paul tried to get the floor to stand up and offer an amendment to defund Planned Parenthood and another one to arm servicemen and women on military bases. He intended to offer these measures as amendments to the highway bill that is currently on the Senate floor. Whoever was presiding over the floor refused to recognize Paul to offer his amendments.

Video: Rand Paul burns, woodchips, and chainsaws the U.S. tax code

This clip would feel so different if Rand was sitting at 15-20 percent in the polls right now, smack dab in the middle of the top tier, with a huge Super PAC haul under his belt. Imagine it. With the media in early panic mode about Republicans nominating a crazed libertarian who’d take a wrecking ball to government as president, here Rand would be, goofing on the hysteria behind that image while also winking at his supporters that he might in fact be the wrecking ball the left fears. The vid would, essentially, be a form of “kidding on the square” by a man confident enough in his chances in Iowa and New Hampshire to tease fans with thoughts of the regulatory woodchipping to come.
