Bernie Sanders says conditions in Baltimore no better than North Korea, West Bank

Residents of some Baltimore neighborhoods are no better off than people living in impoverished North Korea and the violent West Bank, Bernie Sanders said during a campaign rally in Maryland ahead of that state’s primary. "Poverty in Baltimore, and around this country — poverty is a death sentence," Sanders said April 24. He then laid out some rather unflattering and harsh comparisons:

Shades of '80 in '16, and that's not good for Clinton

Will Bernie Sanders do to Hillary Clinton what Ted Kennedy did to Jimmy Carter a political generation ago? It sure looks like it. That was when, back in 1980, Sen. Ted Kennedy sought to wrest the party nomination for president away from President Jimmy Carter, a fellow Democrat, who was seeking re-election.

My Hunt for Bernie’s Grandfather

When Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton debated in Brooklyn last week, they did so not far from Bernie’s childhood home and from some disturbing socialist-communist trails. Exploring those paths led me on a chase toward a character named Benjamin Glassberg — more than one Benjamin Glassberg, it turned out.

Bernie Sanders Versus the Tenth Commandment

Bernie Sanders, with the regularity of a steam engine, has pounded away for months at the injustice, the wickedness, even the racism of “income inequality.” If ever there was a Johnny one-note on the American political scene, he is it. Yet almost nobody, and least of all his hapless opponent Hillary Clinton, has thought to call into question the ethical validity or inflammatory character of the covetousness this political slogan urges upon the public, with a recklessness that has visited untold calamities upon Europe.

In Hard-Hit Ohio Steel Town, Trump and Sanders Resonate

LORAIN, Ohio - The landscape here looks like a wasteland. And it's about to get worse. Two steel mills in this city, 30 miles west of Cleveland on Lake Erie, are set to close by the end of March, laying off hundreds of people in an area that has seen jobs slowly erode for more than two decades.

Clinton, Sanders Plan To Stop Fracking Would Boost CO2, Liberals Admit

What is an environmentalist to do these days? You can support windmills, so long as they don’t disrupt ridgelines, where the wind happens to blow. You have to approve of solar power, except when a solar power plant might disrupt efforts to restore migration routes for 100 sheep in the Mohave Desert. And you once were supposed to support natural gas as a “bridge fuel” between coal and something else, until you weren’t.

Garry Kasparov: Hey, Bernie, Don’t Lecture Me About Socialism. I Lived Through It.

2016 seems like a strange time to be arguing the merits of socialism in an American presidential campaign. But it’s also strange for the prospective leaders of the free world to be talking about the KKK and their appendages, so clearly this year is not like any other. While the latter topics are, thankfully, beyond my purview, I have a great deal of interest in socialism.

Sanders Goes all in for Destroying Gun Manufacturers

Embracing gun control has always been a toxic issue for Democrats.  It has played well deep in their darkest bases, like New York City and the District of Columbia, where ignorance about guns and gun law is pervasive and cherished.  On the national stage, they have been careful to approach it sideways, with code words like "gun safety" and "common sense".
