Clinton email scandal: Why it might be time for Democrats to draft Joe Biden

The Hillary Clinton email issue is developing into a real whodunit, complete with Clintonesque legal semantics. "I never sent or received any material marked classified," she said with respect to the discovery of classified information on her private, unclassified email server. That surface denial nearly rivals Bill Clinton's classic: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." But this is no laughing matter.

Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday that Republicans are not the "chief enemy," contrasting with would-be chief Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton should he jump in the race.
"I really respect the members up there and I still have a lot of Republican friends. I don't think my chief enemy is the Republican Party. This is a matter of making things work," Biden said Tuesday, during an event honoring former Vice President Walter Mondale.

Deval Patrick on the Biden ticket is key to Obama’s endorsement

President Obama’s endorsement of a Joe Biden White House run will be conditional on having a “final say” over his choice for vice president, according to Ed Klein, author of the Hillary Rodham Clinton biography “Unlikeable.”
“Barack Obama would like to see Deval Patrick, the former governor of Massachusetts and an African-American, run on the Biden ticket,” Klein told John Catsimatidis on AM 970 radio Sunday.
Patrick, who served as assistant attorney general under then-President Bill Clinton, grew up in Chicago, Obama’s former stomping grounds. He succeeded Mitt Romney as governor of Massachusetts.

James Carville: Biden 'hasn't had the best track record' running for president

Democratic strategist James Carville in an interview broadcast Sunday blasted a potential 2016 White House run by Vice President Joe Biden.
"He's done it twice, and he hasn't had the best track record doing it," the longtime Clinton adviser told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on AM 970 in New York. Biden met with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Saturday in Washington, D.C., CNN reported, amid buzz he is seriously weighing a 2016 Oval Office bid.
It is seen as biggest indicator yet that Biden is seriously tempted by a presidential run next year.

Joe Biden will spend week-long retreat deciding whether to run for President

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife are retreating from Washington for a week in South Carolina with little on their schedule but a momentous decision to make: whether he should run for president.
Biden's advisers say he hasn't indicated which way he's leaning. The vice president is still mourning the death of his son barely two months ago. But since reports surfaced saying he was taking a fresh look at running, potential campaign staffers have begun sending in their resumes, aides said, and longtime Biden donors have offered to help if he gets in the race.
