Rick Perry endorses Ted Cruz

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is endorsing Ted Cruz in the Republican presidential primary, Perry told POLITICO in an interview Sunday night. Perry, who also sought the GOP nomination before dropping out in September, said he now sees the race as one that is between Cruz, a fellow Texan, and Donald Trump. Through phone calls and during a December day spent driving around his Round Top, Texas, home in his truck with Cruz, Perry said he found the senator to be a good listener who respects the Tenth Amendment, "knows what he does not know" and is more conservative than Trump.

Rick Perry torches Donald Trump as he drops out of 2016 race

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry suddenly announced he was suspending his presidential campaign Friday.
As he did so, he made it abundantly clear that he's still not a fan of real-estate mogul Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner in the race with whom he has often feuded.
Speaking at an event in St. Louis, Missouri, Perry repeatedly jabbed at Trump's campaign-trail controversies without using his name.

Rick Perry: Border Wall Nothing More Than Rhetoric

Joining Lou Dobbs earlier this week, Former Texas Governor Rick Perry was asked to explain his stance on illegal immigration and border security.

“I think we need to flesh everyone out from the stand point of of just the rhetoric. When somebody says, ‘let’s build a wall,’ then I think it’s appropriate to say, it’s good to have this conversation, it’s good that we are having this conversation that now for thirty years, this border has not been secured. We’ve known it’s been a problem,” said Perry.
Dobbs interjected that he doesn’t believe a single candidate talking about immigration issues because “we’ve heard it all before.”

Rick Perry's former chairman Sam Clovis has signed on to Donald Trump's campaign in the first high-profile defection of the 2016 presidential race

Texas Governor Rick Perry's former chairman Sam Clovis has joined forces with Donald Trump as the race to become the Republican Party's presidential nominee got its first defection last night.

Clovis, an influential Conservative activist, college professor and talk-show host is now a member of Trump's team.

Rick Perry got a second shot at answering the question that derailed his 2012 presidential campaign Monday night.


Speaking at a candidate forum here at St. Anselm’s College, Perry was asked: “Specifically, what agencies would you either eliminate or cut?”
”I’ve heard this question before,” Perry cracked, to laughter. He has indeed.

PERRY ON CRITICIZING TRUMP: ‘I WILL NOT BE QUIET’

This week on “Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace ” Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) said he will “not be quiet” when it comes to criticizing his rival Donald Trump.
Perry said, “I’m not going to be quiet, when Donald Trump shoots a bullet through Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% and hits veterans particularly those that have been captured. I’ll challenge Donald trump. You go tell Marcus Luttrell who was captured by the Taliban that he doesn’t like being around people that have been captured. That is one of the low moments of this campaign from my perspective. I won’t be quiet about that...."
