DH: Congressional candidate Art Robinson holds forum

Art Robinson wants to go to Congress, but if elected, he promises mid-valley voters he won’t stay long. ✧ The 72-year-old Republican faces Rep. Peter DeFazio in making another bid to represent Oregon’s 4th Congressional District. He spoke Tuesday to about 20 people gathered in a conference room at Albany’s Holiday Inn Express, promising he’ll do his best, then step down. ✧ Robinson said he believes most of the problems with the United States government are caused by politicians who have made their offices their careers. He said he believes elected representatives should be “citizen volunteers” who serve their civic duty for one term, perhaps two at the most, then give someone else a chance.
