The senator's super PACs have launched an unprecedented ground effort in South Carolina and seem intent on going where few super PACs have gone before--door knocking. We all know super PACs have permanently changed the face of American politics. But in South Carolina, right now, we're getting a preview of the unprecedented ways they can alter a campaign.

Bush Super PAC Has Spent More Than $50M
The Jeb Bush backers who poured more than $100 million into pro-Bush super PAC Right to Rise haven't exactly been getting a lot of bang for their buck. The group has already spent more than $49 million, not including salaries and other operating expenses, only to have its candidate's poll numbers drop to the low single figures, the Washington Post reports.

The Democrats' Steady SuperPAC
The left-wing slant of the dominant strain of major media was on full display with the snarky questions CNBC's moderators hurled at the ten Republican presidential candidates during last week's debate. Big Media has long leaned so far in favor of Democrats and against Republicans that only when it falls over at its most unfair and unprofessional does it even draw much attention anymore. "It's a muscular buy for a muscular story," Mike Murphy, the chief strategist for Right to Rise USA, the super PAC supporting Bush that bought the ads, told the Des Moines Register.

Jeb Bush super PAC spending $10 million on ads in early primary states
The powerfully funded super PAC backing Republican Jeb Bush will spend at least $10 million on television time in the earliest voting presidential primary states, the first salvo in a massive TV ad campaign to support the former Florida governor's bid for the Republican nomination. Officials with Right to Rise USA say they will buy time in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina TV markets and on cable television in the three states. Ads are scheduled to begin in Iowa and New Hampshire on Sept. 15, in South Carolina a week later and then run continuously through the end of the year.

Why did a Ted Cruz super PAC give $500,000 to Carly Fiorina’s?
A super PAC supporting former tech executive Carly Fiorina's run reported raising $3.5 million -- with a half-million dollar lift from a super PAC supporting GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.).
The pro-Cruz PAC, Keep the Promise I, reported the disbursement Friday in a document filed with the Federal Election Commission. That is...unusual, to say the least.
Cruz has four allied super PACs, all named some variation of “Keep the Promise.” Together they raised an estimated $38 million...
