Ted Cruz (R-Texas.) on Monday slammed the protesters who have taken over a federal building in rural Oregon, urging them to lay down their arms. --"Every one of us has a constitutional right to protest, to speak our minds,” Cruz told reporters at campaign event in Iowa, according to NBC News.

A way forward for Oregon Republicans

It’s no secret that Oregon Republicans have had a tough time at the polls lately.

Republicans haven’t won a statewide election for an embarrassingly long time. Oregon hasn’t had a Republican Governor in decades. And, like a girl who doesn’t get asked to the prom, the Beaver State GOP faithful had to watch this year’s Republican wave sweep across the country while sweet Oregon sat next to the phone waiting for the call that never came. Oops! Senator Merkley (D-OR) Tells Seniors At A Senior Event "Sorry You Are Not On The List" SCRAM!

Traditionally when a politician holds events to entice seniors to vote his/her way they allow seniors into the event. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) however has a different way of welcoming seniors.  Last week, Senator Merkley kicked off his August recess with a tour “aimed at explaining why he believes he’s the best candidate to help aging Oregonians, the Senator was scheduled to hold eight events in three days across the state.  The first stop Wednesday with a less than spectacular showing of only three attendees at the campaign’s first stop in Astoria, Oregon. If that weren’t the start the Merkley campaign was hoping for, perhaps they’d be able to right the ship later that afternoon in Hillsboro… or not: …Before Merkley arrived, there was a spat between his campaign staff and some visitors who wanted to attend the roundtable, thinking it was an open event. A handful of people were already seated when they were asked to leave because they hadn’t been invited.

GOP's Wehby Gaining in Oregon

"Are you kidding?" This is Monica Wehby's amiable response to people who wonder whether she will be able to bear the pressures of office if she wins her race as a Republican Senate candidate. For 17 of her 52 years she has been a pediatric neurosurgeon, holding in steady hands sharp steel and the fate of children's brains.   She probably can cope with the strains of legislative life.   Today, her task is to persuade Oregonians to act on the cogent exhortation of her campaign's bumper stickers: "Keep Your Doctor. Change Your Senator." She is trying to take a Senate seat away from freshman Democrat Jeff Merkley, who was elected in 2008 with 49 percent of the vote when Barack Obama carried the state with 57 percent.

1. Illegal immigrant Driver cards Repeal: Reverses a new law that allows Oregonians who can’t prove they are in the US legally the right to obtain a driver card.
2. Equal Rights Amendment: Amends the Oregon Constitution to make sex discrimination illegal.
3. Legalization of marijuana: Legalizes the use of marijuana for those aged 21and older. Sales would be regulated by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission; tax revenues would go to a variety of public services. Prohibits smoking in public.

GOP candidate booted from editorial meeting after calling out 'blah blah' dis

Mark Callahan, a Republican Senate candidate, was kicked out of a local Oregon newspaper's editorial board meeting after daring to challenge a reporter who dissed a fellow candidate, Jo Rae Perkins, by writing "blah blah blah" in his notes instead of her actual quotes. The Willamette Week video of the incident went viral and Callahan was invited to appear on Fox & Friends.
