As many of you know, I am big supporter of Sen. Ted Cruz. After reading some alarming statements here in New Hampshire regarding his political record, I decided to do some digging! Here are the fruits of my labor…FICTION: “Essentially, Cruz’s wife Heidi once worked for Merrill Lynch and is a Goldman Sachs Regional Manager, which is a little concerning, given, you know, the massive bailouts and their involvement with the Federal Reserve in deflating our currency and killing our economy.”FACT: Heidi Cruz is a wealth manager in the Houston office helping families and foundations and is not connected with the company’s Washington operations. She has always been located in Houston while employed at Goldman Sachs. And, the division Heidi worked in was not connected to the portion of the bank that received bailout money. Her division would not have been affected even if Goldman had not received the bailout!

GOP Insiders: Cruz Presidential Campaign Expanding Base, ‘Hitting On A Lot Of Cylinders’
GOP insiders are giving Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, high marks for his campaign rollout, now a month into his presidential bid.
As reported by the Washington Times, the key to Cruz’s success in the GOP primary is the solidifying of his place as the anti-establishment candidate in the race.
“He is expanding his base, and he is right now hitting on a lot of cylinders and I think the mechanics of the campaign have done well,” said Dave Carney, a GOP operative in New Hampshire. “My advice is: do not underestimate him. He is a serious, serious, guy and the more the nation’s elites make fun of him, the stronger he will be. Everyone ignores him at their own peril.”

The disturbing case of Ted Cruz and the gay hoteliers
If there is a worse example of our politics today than this, I’d hate to see it. Ted Cruz, the ultra-conservative Texas senator running for the GOP’s presidential nomination, spent an evening last week visiting with about a dozen people at the Manhattan home of Ian Reisner and Mati Weiderpass, the gay proprietors of, among other properties, the Out NYC hotel. Cruz’s opinions about gay marriage are very different from those of the hoteliers. But — gasp! — he and Reisner, in particular, apparently agree about other issues, notably foreign policy and America’s relationship with Israel. So they met to talk about those issues.
Afterward, all hell broke loose.
Cruz was criticized by some social conservatives for the get-together, in part because he reportedly made some comments that reflected tolerance toward gay people. But this backlash was puny in comparison to what hit Reisner and Weiderpass.

Ted Cruz Tells Iowa Evangelicals There Is 'No Room For Christians In Today's Democratic Party'
Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told a gathering of conservative Republicans that there was “no room for Christians in today's Democratic party,” in a speech Saturday, according to reports.
Speaking at the Faith and Freedom summit in Iowa, along with several other GOP 2016 hopefuls, Cruz said: “There is a liberal fascism that is dedicated to going after believing Christians who follow the biblical teaching on marriage," according to CNN.

Ted Cruz's Fundraising Hauls Are Off The Charts
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) – the first Republican hopeful to put his name forward – has long maintained that only by mobilizing the conservative grassroots can the GOP hope to reclaim the White House in 2016. He has explicitly said that primary-goers looking for a candidate that will toe the party line, and buckle to the whims of the establishment, should look elsewhere. As a result, he has pledged not to fund his campaign with funds obtained from lobbyists or crony capitalists, and therefore must tap into the generosity and support of ordinary Americans to get his campaign off the ground.

PPP Poll: Ted Cruz enters top tier of GOP hopefuls
PPP's newest Republican national poll finds that Ted Cruz has the big momentum following the official announcement of his candidacy last week. His support has increased from 5% to 16% in just over a month, enough to make him one of three candidates in the top tier of GOP contenders, along with Scott Walker and Jeb Bush. Walker continues to lead the field with 20%, although that's down from his 25% standing a month ago. Bush continues to poll at 17%, followed by Cruz at 16%, Ben Carson and Rand Paul at 10%, Marco Rubio and Mike Huckabee at 6%, Chris Christie at 4%, and Rick Perry at 3%.

Sen. Ted Cruz announces presidential bid, vows to 'stand for liberty'
Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz announced that he will run for president in 2016 via a Twitter post early Monday, becoming the first major candidate to officially declare."I'm ready to stand with you to lead the fight," Cruz says as the video concludes. Shortly after midnight Monday, the campaign had launched its website. Cruz had been expected to make the official announcement later Monday during a speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. He is expected to start his campaign immediately rather than launch an exploratory committee, which many do as a precursor to a campaign.
